We Work with Your General Contractor

Electrical delays are one of the biggest schedule killers on construction projects. We show up when we say we will, communicate directly with your GC, and have never caused a failed rough-in inspection due to workmanship.

Our New Construction Process

Every phase coordinated, every inspection passed.

1

Pre-Construction Planning

We review plans, perform load calculations, and coordinate with your GC and architect before the first nail is driven.

2

Permit Application

We file the electrical permit application, submitting load calculations and plans to the municipality.

3

Rough-In Phase

After framing is complete, we install all conduit, boxes, and wiring. We schedule the rough-in inspection before drywall.

4

Rough-In Cover Inspection

The inspector approves the rough-in. Only after this approval does drywall proceed — protecting you and the contractor.

5

Final Trim-Out

After drywall and paint, we install all devices, fixtures, and panel terminations.

6

Final Inspection & CO

We schedule the final electrical inspection and coordinate with the municipal inspector for Certificate of Occupancy sign-off.

New Construction Electrical FAQs

What electrical work is required for a new home build in NJ?+
New construction electrical in NJ includes service entrance installation, panel sizing and installation, rough-in wiring (before drywall), all outlet and switch wiring, lighting circuits, HVAC electrical connections, and final trim-out. Every phase requires permits and inspections.
How do you coordinate with the general contractor?+
We work directly with your GC to align our rough-in schedule with framing, HVAC, and plumbing. We attend site meetings, provide load calculations for panel sizing, and communicate directly on any conflicts — so your project stays on schedule.
Who pulls the electrical permit for new construction?+
We pull all electrical permits under our NJ master electrician license. We also coordinate with the municipality for rough-in, rough-in cover, and final inspections. You never deal with permit paperwork.
What panel size does a new home typically need?+
Most new NJ homes require 200A service minimum. Homes with EV chargers, solar, whole-home generators, or large HVAC systems may need 400A service. We perform a full load calculation as part of our pre-construction planning.
Do you handle gut renovation electrical work?+
Yes. Gut renovations are a core part of our work. We remove old knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring, install a new panel, run all new circuits, and coordinate with the inspector. We also handle partial renovations where only selected rooms are being redone.
Can you wire for smart home systems during new construction?+
Absolutely. New construction is the ideal time to wire for smart home systems. We install structured wiring for Lutron lighting control, CAT6 data, in-ceiling speakers, EV charger circuits, and solar-ready conduit — far easier and cheaper during framing than after drywall.
